Literally the best pork I have ever had. I would give a 4.5 rating. Service was great and friendly. Guacamole was fresh. Steak tacos were fresh with mild spices. The crab and corn enchiladas were nicely seasoned but were not delivered hot- just warm, thus reason for 4.5 the black beans were also delicious. Restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. We even saw staff cleaning baseboards. Highly recommend trying this place out. I'll be back.Parking: Easy to park for lunch. Probably 20 spots.
After visiting the zoo, we stumbled upon this restaurant when our first choice was too crowded. It turned out to be a fortunate mistake as we had a wonderful experience! We sampled three different salsas, all of which were delicious. We plan on returning to purchase some to take home. We also tried a salad and shrimp tacos, both of which were homemade and full of flavor. We are excited to come back soon for a drink!
I have to say, I did not think this place was going to be as good as others have said. The food was DELICIOUS! Very well seasoned and the steak was tender. The salsa and chips were great. The waitress was so nice and attentive but not overbearing. The entire restaurant, including the bathrooms, were decorated very modern and clean. We will be back to visit next time we are in Tampa.

This was solid…. We randomly picked because the ratings were good. Not your typical boarder food restaurant. Has an urban Millennial feel. The steak enchiladas were surprisingly good actually. Even the chips/salsa have an edge. Service and drinks were great too. I really can’t poke any holes in this experience. Great job and I’ll def be back!
We dined at this restaurant on a Friday night and had an excellent experience! Our server was extremely attentive and the food was delicious. The smoked pork was some of the best I've ever had! I am looking forward to coming back and trying their tacos. Overall rating for the food: 5/5.
I unexpectedly found this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food. The service was outstanding, even though they were very busy when we arrived. I highly recommend trying the ceviche! Food rating: 5 out of 5.
Mekenita Cantina is an unexpected treasure in the Tampa Florida area. Everyone that dined with me was impressed.It is Phoenix Arizona quality good and that is a high standard for a Mexican restaurant. I definitely recommend it.

Sometimes you just want some chips and queso. Unfortunately they don't have queso, but the guac was good. My burrito was a little dry. The service was good. I would give it another try though.
