I chanced upon this hole-in-the-wall cafe yesterday and was pleased to find a local joint offering more delicate servings of sushi and handrolls compared to the regular sushi chains. The proportion of fish to rice was much more satisfying, and with brown rice options for handrolls, they felt healthier too.Went back again today with the family to sample the cooked fare and was again pleasantly surprised with how well the Katsu Curry Don was prepared. I have ave passed this small 'hole in the wall' Japanese cafe and take-away cafe hundreds of times over the years but I've never sampled their food. Today I had 10 minutes to spare before an appointment and felt peckish - so I gave Mitsuko a try. The result was a quick and pleasant lunch of sushi, sashimi and pieces of California Roll. The price was very reasonable and I ate the food on one of the seven small tables inside this plain, very simple cafe. The two women who served me were very friendly. The menu is surprisingly large for such a modest place and there was plenty of hot food options; Yakitori, Gyoza, Takoyaki (octopus balls); pan-fried Salmon, Katsu Don (fried pork fillet), Japane...
We came just for a quick and cheap lunch, and were not disappointed. The sushi rolls that we ate were fresh and yummy, and we also had some ramen and udon noodle soups with tempura prawns. The tempura prawns were nice and crispy, however, the soup was a little on the bland side. They had some chilli powder, which spiced it up nicely though. We also ordered some potato croquettes, but these were a little overfried, and bland. Probably best to come here for their sushi rolls.
This restaurant serves perfect Japanese food done exceptionally well. We have been loyal customers for 10 years and have never been disappointed. The traditional cafe is delightful and delicious, with quick service and friendly staff. The environment is clean and safe, sure to impress even the most discerning diners. Overall, it was a terrific experience and we would recommend Mitsuko's whether you're looking for a quick meal or a quality dining experience.

I popped in with my son for a quick bite to eat. Lovely people, service and food. So much better than large chain sushi/Japanese bars we have become accustomed to. My Bento box was delicious and very generous portions. Will certainly be back next time I'm in town. Thankyou
