It must be my own sucker for punishment desire for suffering that keeps taking me back to order overpriced drinks from the freshly tattooed, recent graduates of the button up shirt hospitality school for self important twots.I feel so privileged to be here that I should in fact actually be paying a cover charge to have the shift supervisor knowingly shake his head at our drink selection. How dare we order from the menu? How dare we request our favourite cocktails? Why aren't we drinking 25 year old Hokkaido peated self congratulation juice? Shame on us. What an absolutely gorgeous place to have a drink and enjoy some time. I honestly don't know whether they serve much in the way of food, I saw a couple of items but didn't look for the food menu. Fantastic staff, great style. Without directions I would not have found this place. It is located downstairs after passing through an innocuous door and very ordinary set of stairs. The drinks are reasonably priced and served with a bowl of pretzels. It was such a treat I went there twice in the 2.5 days I was in Canberra. It's a winner and should I get the chance, I will be heading back there.
Friends and I had just had a great meal and wine at Bar Rochford and thought we'd kick on for a cocktail and thought we'd give Molly a try. As we walked down the dingy stairwell the smell hit us immediately. The place stinks! It was unbearable, it was like a men's toilet in a subway station. There is no air flow, so it was a humid sauna type men's toilet experience. How people can sit in there and eat was beyond us. We didn't stay, we hightailed it to an enjoyable fresh cool cocktail at Hippos. There is nothing cool about this place.
Molly is an awesome little place - if you don't mind the noise of a crowded space & a lack of seating. If you're not a fan of surprises this might not be for you either - the cocktails are mostly names on the menu & you may get a surprise if you don't ask your bar tender! I highly encourage asking (although you may have to half-shout if it's a busy night) - they are more than happy to enlighten you or make something up to your tastes.

Don't miss the doorway, but once found a cool little venue!Jazz pianist playing on the night we visited just fab.Work your way through a small menu book of cocktails, drink in the atmosphere and chill with friends. A hidden gem in Canberra. I will be back!
Once you find it, you delve deep into prohibition era. My friend had a lovely cocktail, while I stuck to a glass of wine. Dimly lit and comfortable it is easy to lose an hour or so of time. Pretzels are great too.
The bar had a great atmosphere tho it was whisky orientated I feel it lacked a bit of direction from the bar tender especially if you weren't that sure what to order,in saying that they were friendly
Once you find this little unique gem you will come back. Great ambience and wide selection of spirits and liqueurs. Highlight for me was the prosciutto and cheese bar...what a bonus.
