I used to frequent pastry house hippo at Mitsuwa around once a week for a few years. This place I went to once pretty early on after going to crescent bakery to give them a try their chocolate cake didn't hold up to house hippo, so I wrote them off. I revisited when I had a bad experience with house hippo not sure if they changed their chefs or recipe but it was a bad experience across several slices I purchased that day. Long story short I enjoyed the slices here quite a bit and even found their matcha cake tasting better than house hippo's the grade of matcha is higher quality as well.I would say the Kahlua, Tiramisu and the Matcha are among my favorite slices so far, they are glorious wit...
I posted a similar review on Yelp. I've been visiting this place with my parents since I was three years old, and they make the best strawberry shortcake I've ever tasted. The texture is incredibly soft, and the sweetness is just right. Their green tea cake and green tea crepe cake are truly unique as well. The head baker is exceptionally talented, and I've ordered several birthday cakes from them. I highly recommend this spot, located just across from Mitsuwa. And yes, I would choose this place over Hippo (which is fantastic too)!
I've been ordering cakes from this bakery for years, and their quality is always outstanding. If you're looking for mousse cakes, be sure to place your order at least five days in advance. While the prices are on the higher side, they align with those of other upscale bakeries like Tous les Jours and Ambrosia Euro-American Patisserie. Our favorite is the Tiramisu cake. For birthday cakes, they beautifully decorate the top with a sign made from a piece of white chocolate.
Mont Blanc is just a block or so from Mitsuwa. It offers beautiful and delicious cakes. Perfect cute store to buy treats for ourselves or for special occasions. The woman who greeted us when we arrived was very pleasant and professional. We requested a Hello Kitty birthday cake, and not only did they have it ready by the next day, but it was also beautifully crafted! Thank you!
I love this place!!!! I drive over 30 miles to get here. The best cake place is super clean. I have tasted all The different cakes, and oh my God, it is so light it melts in your mouth, absolutely delicious.
Finally, this bakery tried and ordered slices of chocolate mousse and strawberry cake. They were very fresh and delicious. I will go back to try some other flavors. The green Matcha cake looks interesting.
