Tolle und aussichtsreiche Fahrt auf den Monte Generoso. Die Fahrzeuge sind wunderschön lackiert und wirken gut unterhalten. Während Corona sind die vollen Fahrzeuge mit geschlossenen Fenstern während den Stosszeiten aber eine echte Zumutung! Vielleicht lassen sich hier Alternativen ausarbeiten mit halb vollen Fahrzeugen und einer guten Durchlüftung. Da man von Unten bis Oben doch eine Weile im Zug sitzt...
The new RESTAURANT is beautiful, but the view at the Selfservice restaurant is limited, which is another proof that even Star-Architects often do not construct a beautiful building with good usability. The top restaurant has a very nice view, but was closed for a private event. The Selfservice Restaurant opens only at 11:30. The roof terrace was closed without a reason! ... there is room for improvement!
It is an exhilarating experience to take this cogwheel train and climb Monte Generoso. We feel like children again. Breathtaking views of the lakes and mountains. Refined restaurant for both service and food, the self-service also offers excellent options.
Sehr interessante Streckenführung. Oben angelangt, hat man einen wunderschönen Blick auf den Lago di Lugano und die Alpen. Interessiertes Gebäude vom berühmten Tessiner Architekten Mario Botta. Es nennt sich Fiore di pietra , also Steinblume. Book a table now
Nicht Coronaconform, es werden mehr Personen in die Bahn zugelassen als sie sollten. Der Abstand wurde nicht eingehalten. Bei diesen Menschenmassen können die Covidmassnahmen gar nicht eingehalten werden.
An experience to have at least once. The train is very impressive, but for a family the prices are excessive. I recommend closing the season with half-price tickets.
The views are exceptional, as are the prices of the train. You pay more than €50 for a return ticket for an adult. You can also walk up the mountain.
The price of the train ticket can be discouraging but once up there you enjoy a magnificent view, particularly of the Monte Rosa massif. Book a table now
