As a NJ transplant from OK, I will preface by saying I am VERY picky about BBQ (and I can be snooty about this cause I know all my native NJ folks would have some serious issues finding a quality veal parm in OK). I can make perfect brisket on my smoker that has been the result of a 40-year learning curve. I have eaten at all the big names in TX BBQ. When I get bad BBQ, I get all bent outta shape cause I just wasted a wallet full of money on something that people should have high quality control for it's price per pound. I just finished eating a pound of Monty's smoked brisket and a side of mac and cheese. I write this review with a tear in my eye as I remember my first bites of brisket and...
I was really impressed with the brisket...and everything else. Brisket is the most challenging to not only cook right, but handling it so it remains moist is where places fall short. Each time I've had the brisket it's been top notch. The pulled pork has nice bits of outer bark blended in and flavorful. I'm not a rib aficionado, but they were really nicely flavored and tender without dripping off the bone. Looking forward to trying the turkey next. Are TX-style sausages something in the future for Monty's (asking for a friend)?? Oh, and service is super friendly and place inside has a nice rustic vibe.
I’ve been visiting Monty's for some time now, and consistency is one of the most important factors for me when it comes to restaurants. Each time I go to Monty's, it feels like a special treat. I truly enjoy the food, the staff, and the overall atmosphere. Their BBQ is the best I’ve ever had in New Jersey, and everything I've tried there has been perfect. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves BBQ.

Monty's BBQ is fantastic! Their banana pudding is absolutely delicious! The pulled pork, ribs, and chicken are the best I've ever had. My kids adore the mac and cheese. We even catered a birthday party with food from Monty's, and everyone loved it. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite places!
This place is truly fantastic! The pulled pork sandwich is consistently delicious. I tried the mac and cheese last night and absolutely loved it! My brother couldn't stop raving about the brisket sandwich, either! I'm so glad this place is available on DoorDash.

Best BBQ around NY, although it's in NJ! Smokey and succulent ribs, moist corny corn bread, I'm in heaven!
