Since a new owner has taken over, Mottley has experienced a decline. It is disappointing and unfortunate. There is an abundance of merchandise that no one buys, while the beloved previous merchandise is no longer available. It used to be known for its books, community atmosphere, and small but high-quality menu, but all of that has disappeared. The laminated menus are dirty, the set up is off, and there are too many drink coolers. The tables are seldom cleaned and the woman at the register is consistently rude. I used to visit 3-4 times a week, but it is no longer a place I will frequent.
Great, relaxed spot with a quiet atmosphere, perfect for getting work done. The customer service is consistently excellent and the food is decent. The music playlist is fantastic. A wonderful new addition to The South Bronx with a diverse crowd. The rooftop is a favorite spot, especially in the spring and summer. The outdoor seating includes wooden tables with umbrellas, lounge chairs, regular round tables with chairs, and floor cushions. The vibes at Motleys are definitely on point.
I would rate the pastries as a 4 out of 5, with the coffee being a 5. The additional star is for the community-engaged space of the cafe. The atmosphere was welcoming, with local t-shirts available for purchase. I tried the vegan carrot cake and maple cruller. The carrot cake had a good texture but was a bit too sweet for my liking. The cruller was also overly sweet and slightly burnt, resulting in a bitter taste. The coffee, however, was excellent with no complaints.
I love this place because of the calming atmosphere. It?s a great place to study, work, or grab some coffee with a friend. The food is okay, lacked a little flavor for me. However, the coffee is good. The staff is friendly, and the restaurant is clean. The rooftop dining is also a plus if you are into eating outdoors. I enjoy the space and will most likely keep coming because of the coffee. Totally recommend!

I ordered from Uber Eats and everything tasted fresh, natural, and delicious. The chicken avocado dish was exceptional! I had it on a croissant and it was fantastic! All the pastries were tender and freshly made. The lemon olive oil cake was very moist and more than met my expectations. It's best enjoyed warm. I will definitely order from this restaurant again or visit in person.
I had a great experience at this coffee shop. The ambiance is very pleasant and the service from the girl who assisted us was friendly and welcoming. The food was only average in my opinion, so I deducted one star. Despite that, I really liked the atmosphere and would definitely return, even if it's just for coffee. I would recommend this place to others.
This is a dream come true! I have been searching for healthy food options in the Bronx with no luck until I discovered Mottley Kitchen. They offer everything from a variety of coffee options to delicious pastries to healthy lunches. The atmosphere is amazing as well. I love everything about this place.
Coffee was reasonably priced, but also smaller than expected. For me, the tiny portion was just right for how much caffeine I was looking for. The atmosphere is beautiful, with an industrial yet coworking vibe. Location is decent and the staff friendly! I?m a fan and I?ll be back!

Food from here is always awesome but today my vegetarian dish had bacon added. My coworker enjoyed the bacon from my vegetarian Butternut Squash Kale Salad. The Turmeric Latte, Avocado Toasta d cinnamon Raisin Rolls were tasty as always. :
This place has always been a good staple for me for excellent quality coffee and food. Hubby loves the Ultimate BLT and the sausage and egg sammie. All in all good quality food.
