We got shown upstairs to reception to wait on our table but then when the time came it transpired that the restaurant didn 't have any record of our booking. The receptionist upstairs had a record though!? Anyway, despite some doubts about a table becoming available, as they were 'very busy ', we got seated not too much later than our original time and everything from then on (service and food) was very good. It was more confusing than anything else, and it wouldn 't stop us from using again. The receptionist did give us complimentary drinks as well, so fair play.
I highly recommend this friendly and casual bistro located near Waterloo Place. I enjoyed a delicious meal, starting with the North Berwick lobster and ending with the amazing Girotine Fondant. My wife opted for the lamb, which she also enjoyed, followed by their homemade ice cream sundae. After dinner, we relaxed in the hotel lounge with a drink in comfortable chairs. Overall, a great experience that I would recommend to others.
We enjoyed our meal overall but the soup was so thin my friend got fed up and gave up eating it with a spoon. A cup would have been better! Main course were better but fish was under seasoned. Staff were very nice. Good atmosphere. Would try it again.
Good food, although menu didn 't seem as extensive as usual, so we all chose the burger. Beware having a starter as I had no room for pudding. The lads enjoyed the haggis bonbons. Service was good and friendly. Nice to see the restaurant was busy

Visited the restaurant for the start of the festival. The atmosphere was really nice, the staff were very attentive. Our food was fantastic, we all had starters, a main course and desert. Would highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant!!
We went here for a pre theatre dinner. It was our second visit. The food is excellent, the staff very friendly and the meal great value. Would highly recommend it!
The New Year's Eve dinner was excellent. Despite the busy atmosphere, the staff did a fantastic job taking care of us. The service was top-notch.
A hidden gem but well worth finding. Difficult to open door off the street but entry through hotel is very easy and staff excellent
