I started with the Devil Roll, which features a very spicy yellow mustard. I usually take such warnings seriously, but they often turn out to be overblown for me. So I was pleasantly surprised when it packed a punch, burning like wasabi but with an even stronger kick. After doing some research later, I believe the mustard was karashi, although I didn’t confirm this with the waiter, so don’t quote me on it. However, when I took a bite, an overwhelming foul odor hit me immediately—it was so intense that I nearly vomited. It was so off-putting that I had to spit it out and return it to the chef. What was even more disappointing was the lack of an apology from the chef for serving us spoiled fish. This could have resulted in a serious health risk had I swallowed it and contracted food poisoning. Honestly, I find it hard to trust a chef who serves spoiled food. I felt compelled to share my experience because I found this restaurant through reviews, and I hope no one else has to go through what I did.
Very nice authentic Japanese resturant! From the Sushi to the decor and the food with the atmosphere, you are most welcomed. I have added pictures of my Silver Box meal and my daughter's Katsu Curry. Amazing, Fresh Sushi! They have the best of the best top of the line fish. Once you taste it other sushi restaurants won’t compare! If you don’t see a sushi roll you like, which is highly unlikely, they’ll even make something off menu to your liking. If you don’t like sushi other items on the menu are just as wonderful! Service is fantastic! Sake is very good as well. They recommend wonderful pairings!! We go once a week! Greatly satisfied!!!

Mr Sushi is one of the best old school sushi spots in DFW. We’ve been going here for over 2 decades and it’s always great.Something to note at our most recent visit (always at the sushi bar) we noticed there were no longer hot towels, miso or ginger salad serviced with the sushi. They did serve a fish/cucumber salad that was okay. However Mr Sushi is always a 5 star for me.Everything else was delish, super fresh and great service as always.
The decor of the restaurant feels a bit outdated. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but on the positive side, nobody in our group got sick, which is always a concern when eating raw fish. The female server was very pleasant, although she did get one of our orders wrong and still charged us for it. The sushi was above average, but nothing really wowed me. Overall, I would rate the food 4 out of 5.
Absolutely the finest quality sushi in Dallas. The fun part was trying the special dishes they had. Clam, scallops, mackerel which have been hard to find in Dallas were amazing. Atmosphere is low key so come for the food and not the scene.Food: 5/5
The fish is fresh and delicious and service is attentive without being overbearing. I really enjoyed the combos Sushi A and Sushi and Sashimi. It was my first time trying squid Sushi as well as sweet shrimp, they may be my new favorites.Food: 5/5
