I needed some comfort food on my way home through NYC today, so I stopped for a late lunch at Nancy’s Restaurant in Floral Park. I had a fabulous meal at the bar while watching TV and enjoying the cozy fireplace nearby. To start, I had an incredible French onion soup, followed by a deliciously huge burger with fries and beer on tap for my husband. I ordered one of the specials, hand-rolled gnocchi with braised pork and mushrooms. The sauce was light and, although it definitely wasn't part of my diet, the flavors made it well worth the calories. The owner, Vicky, was extremely kind and welcoming. This is one of the best places on Long Island! It's a family owned business that cares about the food and service. The feel is very homey and welcoming. The food is always fresh and delicious. The pasta here is better than in Italy. I've come on different occasions, it's perfect for large parties as well. The price point is great for the food they service. Don't overlook this hidden jem. This is a wonderful restaurant with delicious food, friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere. The fireplace adds a cozy touch, and it’s conveniently located nearby. Plus, there’s live music to enjoy!
