Staying overnight with my wife just 5 minutes walk from the hotel it seemed an inviting spot in which to take dinner. The attractive Grade II listed building at the very heart of the Square appeared to be ideal. Welcomed upon arrival and escorted to our reserved table by the window we felt comfortable and at ease in the atmospheric dining room. Studying the menu over glasses of Sauvignon Blanc we ordered starters of carrot and coriander soup with fillets of seabass and a Madras curry to follow. The soup arrived, hot and tasty, with a strong showing of coriander and accompanied by nice fresh baguettes and butter. Meeting our initial expectations it boded well for the remainder of the meal. This hotel, run by a friendly family, is exceptionally welcoming to dogs. They truly mean it when they say they are "Dog Friendly", but they also ensure that dogs are well-behaved and do not disturb other guests. We stayed at the hotel for three nights during a walking holiday with our large dog. The walking trails were fantastic, suitable for all abilities. The hotel seems to be a hub for community activities, with many regular visitors from various parts of the UK. The owners were actively making sure that all guests, including our dog, were taken care of. The food and drinks were reasonably priced and freshly prepared. We highly recommend this hotel as a family-friendly, dog-friendly, and...
I have been traveling to Britain for over 20 years and have always maintained the stereotype of bad British food. However, the food served at the Neuadd Arms Hotel was one of the worst meals I have had during my time here. It was just about edible, which is not saying much. Despite the sunny weather, the outdoor seating was spoiled by the noisy lorries passing by in front of the hotel. It is surprising that the hotel was not located by the beautiful river nearby. The Neuadd Arms Hotel is not the only establishment in town that disappointed me. Stay tuned for more reviews.
Ate supper here late March 2022. We both chose the Lamb and Leek hotpot with root vegetables and mashed potatoes. It arrived hot on hot plates (I'm quite fussy about hot food and plates) and stayed hot until the last mouthful. The hotpot was absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. A good fun atmosphere here helped by Claire who is a lovely bubbly helpful young lady. The owners were lovely too of course and so were their gorgeous dogs. Would eat here again. Book a table now
Due to the mixed reviews I was unsure about visiting but I was mistaken. The staff were friendly, welcoming super helpful. The barman was knowledgeable about the drinks on offer the waiter was patient during the difficult decision of pudding choices. The food was delicious especially the hot pot ALL the puddings. My children cleared their plates this does not happen often. If you get the chance do pop in, please do. You will not be disappointed.
This is a well established inn on the busy A483. It is traditionally decorated and has a homely feel. There is a reasonable priced food menu and a couple of real ales are available. Nice place to break a journey to West Wales.
Staying in town looking for evening meal. Decided on this pub, good choice on menu with reasonable prices. Good beer available, staff friendly, food came out quite quick, good quality, will pop in again.
Stayed a short walk away ate her both nights, can’t fault the service or food, delicious very reasonably priced. Beer brewed on site was really good too, will definitely return when in the area again Book a table now
We stopped for dinner on our way home from the Eisteddfod and received a warm welcome from the staff. The food was served quickly and was delicious. We will definitely be coming back again.
