The New Sydney for a parmie and a cider is a tradition when we visit Hobart. SO imagine my surprise to find a small, unpretentious pub with such an amazing menu! Had to try a bit of everything so I ordered the 'Let us feed you ' option and was not disappointed. And for a great price too. Only one suggestion; I would just keep the dishes for a tasting menu coming at a steady pace rather than wait for word to bring the next. The rest of our party, including some pretty cranky kids, were well and truly finished while I waited for the rest of my courses. But the food, service, and price were all top notch.
Trust me from the outside this place looks like a little old pub in Hobart, do your self a favor and make a point of going in for a meal. The chefs and meals and the staff are all 10 star. They take pride with everything and on a Sunday night Billy plays Jazz Guitar with his band and that’s fantastic. Go you won’t be disappointed that’s for sure.
The staff are absolutely lovely, they make you feel like family. The atmosphere is warm as toast I love the quirky way it is decorated. The meals are abundant you won’t leave here disappointed. I rate the New Sydney Hotel in Hobart as our #1 pick all round ticking all the boxes.
A fantastic pub with a great energy. All the staff members were lovely and had good banter. Especially the Charlie's Angel's bad guy look alike live music was average at best lol, but he had bants and took requests. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would.

Seriously the best restaurant in Hobart. The food is beautiful and beautifully cooked and every time we've been they change the menu up a little which makes it exciting as they are so creative with the food! Also, the big fireplace in winter is always a bonus!
Came over here from Melbourne for my mothers birthday and this place was amazing!! The food was incredible so flavourful and just a really cool place to sit and have a meal whilst listening to great live music!
Loved the atmosphere. Staff so friendly and helpful. Thanks for filling my hot water bottle- my back feels so much better. Loved the food. And loved the music. Thoroughly recommend this lovely little pub.
