We chose to try out this restaurant after all the wonderful reviews and I guess that is the problem with reading reviews. You go with high expectations. We ordered two different burgers and a portion of the house fries. The meat was very good and done medium, just like they stated in the menu. Excellent. The veggies that came with the burger were very fresh. I had the bacon burger. Unfortunately, I felt that the burger was spoilt by the sauce. There was just too much of a creamy sauce at the bottom, on the bread, and because the rucola and fried onions were stuck to it, I couldn't really scrape it off cos I wanted to eat the lovely veggies and onions. When in Wenningstedt it is worth wile to forego the usual hunting grounds and instead pay "Ivo" a visit. This small restaurant/bistro/burger bar is located in a rustic cabin not far from the beach (but definitely without a view). It is famous for its burgers and home-made fries - sauces are home-made, too (and simply great). Ivo's is a good place to sit outside on one of the sheepskin-furnitured benches, have a nice glass of wine and delve into a chicken burger made from locally sourced meat. Service is swift and talkative without being chummy. Prices are fair considering the excellent quality of food and wine.
For the Burgerpatty there are 5*. That was very delicious and medium roasted to the point. Otherwise, I found the composition of the burger somewhat sweet and boring. Too much icebergsslate and onions and, in total, not juicy enough. EUR 14 for a Cheeseburger are an announcement that raises expectations as they are met in other Burger Buden. The mixed salad for 12 EUR was unfortunately boring. Iceberg, tomato and pine nuts. After all, a delicious dressing. I give 4 very well-meaned stars because the staff was nice and friendly.
Top location, friendly owners and legendary Pommes! Since the end of the 90s we have been there every time (was formerly a kind of snack trolley right at the beach access in Wenningstedt when we are on Sylt. Unfortunately the last two years no longer but when Corona is over, we definitely look back at the Pottkieker and also make pictures.

My wife already bites her pumice from child legs, I only since about. 35 years . The Pottkieker has now arrived in today's time and has preserved its charm. Every time always likes to be it only for pommes and beer, right for dinner or to go for the sundowner...
This is a small place and no reservations are taken so you need to be lucky with getting a table at peak season. The burgers are delicious but we were also very happy with the tuna sashimi and salads.
Enjoyed a good and tasty burger made with local ingredients in a nice atmosphere. In this location you can enjoy tasty and simple Food with a good glass of wine and nice service.
