Stumbled into this out-of-the-way bar/restaurant quite by accident and had one of the very best meals of our two week trip to France and Spain. We were the only ones dining for a late lunch but there were a few locals at the bar. The chef-waiter-owner couldn't have been friendlier and was most helpful in guiding us on our menu choices. We had some lovely local wine while we waited for our meals and the veal with mushrooms and frites was AMAZING!! Simply AMAZING!! Montignac is a beautiful little town and our visit there was made all the more memorable because of this unexpectedly wonderful meal. If ever in the area again we'd make it a priority to return.
