I was hoping the food would be really great considering that the restaurant recently received an award for the best new restaurant in SF. I found the starters to be much better than the starters and the overall food was a little over salted for my range. The tangerine beer I had was great! The staff was also very friendly.
whoa. Yellowtail tasted way too "fishy" and the so-called pastrami shortribs were greasy pastrami. Both were $ 30. Robbery. We gave our feedback to the bartender (we were sitting at the bar) and he made no effort to "get it right". I will not be back. The dining room was nice ... parking was awful in the neighborhood.
The drinks were good. Menu is limited. One person did not like the pork. The other thought the short pastrami ribs were fat and of no value. The burger was good. Though very energetic, it's not really a place for $ 30 starters - much looser. Stick with the burger and a cocktail or beer. Book a table now
This restaurant offers a superb variety of beers, consistently delicious food, and exceptional service. If you haven't made a reservation, it's usually simple to find a seat at the bar for a complete dining experience. A beloved spot in the neighborhood.
The ambience and the service were really great. I thought the menu items were unique compared to other similar restaurants, which I appreciated. However, nobody blew my socks off.
I'm so disappointed It's been a few years since I've been to Octagon but I remembered it as a nice restaurant with good food.
NY strip was awful. Service was good and crab cakes were ok. Will not host another company dinner meeting at the Octagon Book a table now
