I had seen the mixed reviews here on TripAdvisor but decided to give Olivers a shot as we like to support local business. We actually went there expecting slow service based on the reviews here. I must admit to fearing the worst when I saw the somewhat tired decor of the restaurant but the service was fine (the restaurant was not busy) and the food was very good. I had the grilled barramundi main and the apple strudel desert. Both dishes were beautifully cooked and extremely well presented. Our waitress was very friendly. We will return on another quiet night as it seems to be the key to having a great experience here.
2 in our party had the grilled snapper, it was tasteless, dry & bland and the menu said it came with rosti, which I love. It came with a deep fried potato crochette which wiiuld be my least favourite choice of food, disappointed. Another person had the $40 steak, medium rare and it came out chewy and well done. Extremely disappointed in food and the service was pretty non existent. In the 2.5 hours we were there we were offered one drink?? When it came time to pay we waited 15 minutes and eventually went up to counter area to find staff to pay bill. Would not recommend or go back.
Not my first visit to this fine restaurant and most certainly not my last. On the beautiful Manly Esplanade on a crisp Queensland winter's day, I had a most relaxing Olivers' lunch washed down with 2 glasses of chilled bubbles. My companion chose the stuffed mushrooms on risotto and I went for the crab lasagne. Both meals were excellent and we finished our lunch with a green tea and a cappucino. I would highly recommend this gem of a restaurant by the sea.
When we first arrived the customers at the table beside were making a complaint that their drinks tasted funny. That should have been a sign. We asked for water when we ordered. It never came. The food took awhile and our burgers were just awful. The meat was so pink I think it was just past raw. The chips were underdone and the whole meal was cold. For a $20 burger we thought it was very ordinary. We wouldn't go back. Oh, and the view isn't that great. Book a table now
Went to Olivers with my friends for a combined birthday lunch , they allow Byo even though have a fully licensed bar .The young girl chef baked us two little birthday cakes ,Lemon and Raspberry and white chocolate . We were surprised and delighted . Great Service ,Great food .Wonderful memorable experience .
We organised a beautiful intimate family Wedding with Olivers at Manly .It was exceptional ,Great wait staff .The food was Perfect .Our guests had a lovely time . What more could you ask for .Happy happy guests
Delightful family breakfast - plenty of choice for Adults and children - each meal was wonderfully presented and delicious. Great service will definitely be back to try their lunch and dinner menu
We had a fabulous dinner with friends and family .Had heard pork belly was amazing . And it was Devine, Fish and Chips were memorable too .All in all very very good Book a table now
Have visited Olivers for dinner and breakfast. The food is beautiful. Tasty and well presented. The service is efficient and friendly. Will be visiting again.
