My brother suggested we stop here for lunch.They offer shrimp, calamari, fried oysters, clam strips, salmon, mahi mahi, cod, catfish, tilapia, and haddock though today they were out of haddock. Most everything comes with fries and or coleslaw. I had the cod cake with pasta salad and vegetables. The prices seemed a little high until I received the order. Generous portions of each item filled my plate.The cod cake was very well balanced and fried to perfection. The cocktail sauce (self serve) balanced out the texture and flavor for me.The pasta salad with rotini, peas, and what looked like bits of fish had the right amount of dressing and complemented the cod cake. my wife wanted fried garnel, so I went to yelp to make a search. oscars pier 83 found and thought I would try. when they go at the place is clean and welcoming. I have the shrimp arm sandwich that was the best I had in phoenix. packed with garnels, I had to work to keep them from falling the brotes and they were fresh and crispy. you should be hungry if you order this, and I would do it again. my wife had the 6 large garnel basket with fries. when they say big, they mean it, and they were just really baked so they actually taste the shrimp. the brot was crisp and light. the fries were also fresh and crispy. again a part was great, my wife says she had 4, but she ate all six. my grandson had...
Tried this place for the 2nd time and last time. By the time I got it home, the dish was soggy and oily. The fries were cold and soggy. On top of that, the catfish was much, much stronger than fresh catfish normally is. I don't know what the clam chowder is. It sure isn't not Boston style. I had to heat it up and all I could taste was black pepper and the clams were very chewy. My wife got cod. 2 pieces were ok. The 3rd was rubbery and inedible. At least the coleslaw was ok. $50 after tip in the trash. Maybe it's better if you eat in? I will never know.
underwhelming. this afternoon stopped to catch the late lunch and dinner. ordered the 6-pc jumbo garnels that came with fries and koleslaw. it was just okay. nothing special. fries were not freshly cut. coleslaw was bland. So, for just so tasteful, and the Pricier menu, I won't come back. Book a table now
a nice small stripe small fish restaurant in the western valley. they usually serve fried seafood from frozen. eating is good, although I want them to offer an extended menu with less fried options and more fresh seafood.
