I see some great reviews and my experience was similar. Buddy of mine and I ate here for dinner for the first time this week. I got the salmon salad and New England clam chowder. The quantity of salmon they put on this salad was impressive, in fact my buddy commented on that. And it was perfectly cooked. Salads like this usually get a small chunks of dried out pieces of salmon, but here the whole filet is laid right on top of the salad. And the chowder fantastic ... well made and not the sticky, flavorless mess you find other places where the chowder is on the menu as a second thought. Hey Bill we better add a chow-da to the menu . Uhhh why? I dunno just cuz .Price ... I would consider Oscar...
Do you want New England clam chowder as good as what you find in San Francisco? If so, go to Oscar's Pier 83. For years we have been looking for great clam chowder all over Arizona and were about to give up. We tried the Angry Crab Shack and California Fish Grill. My husband could not take more than one spoonful at Angry Lobster, I tried a couple more before giving up. California Fish Grill was mediocare at best.Then we found Oscar's Pier 83. It is a drive, but very well worth it. The clam chowder is thick, rich, full of clams and potatoes. Great staff. I cannot wait to go back and try their fish.
I visited Oscars for a late lunch on May 25th, after having it on my list to try for about a year. I was surprised to learn that this restaurant has been around for 20 years! The friendly lady at the counter was very helpful as I looked through the extensive menu. I ultimately decided on the cod fish and chips, along with slaw, fries, hush puppies, and chowder served in a sourdough bread bowl. Everything was delicious and I left feeling very satisfied. I will definitely be returning to Oscars as one of my regular dining spots. I highly recommend it!
We used to live is AZ 12 years ago before moving to OK. We are back for the winter and could not hardly wait to see if the food at our old haunt, Pier 83, was still as good as we remembered. I am glad to report that it is indeed. I had the Cod Fish ‘N Chips a long with hush puppies. My Wife had the legendary Fish Tacos. It was all fantastic! When I told the staff it was my wife’s birthday they gave her a free cake of her choice. She chose the Carrot Cake. It was moist and delicious. What a great birthday celebration lunch!

I have visited Oscar's twice now and both experiences were excellent. Being from New England, I have a soft spot for haddock and Oscar's definitely delivers in that department. Their cod cakes are exceptional as well. On my most recent visit, I tried the jumbo shrimp and they were absolutely fantastic. It's rare to find a place in Arizona where the natural flavor of the seafood shines through without being overpowered by seasoning or frying. I highly recommend checking out Oscar's if you're in the area.

Nothing bad to say at all. Great staff, clean, fantastic fish and chips. The cod was cooked to perfection and fries had a nice flavoring on them that was not over done. Will come back again
Ordered cod and fried clam combo. There might be clams in there somewhere, however the greasy over battered food left them hidden.Not worth the trip, very disappointed
