I’ve had a couple of decent experiences on the rooftop, but last night’s visit really soured me. I tried to make a reservation online but couldn’t, so I called three times without getting an answer and there was no voicemail option. I only received an email denying my reservation request an hour before I was supposed to dine there with a friend, which left me scrambling to find an alternative on a Friday night. We were both hesitant to pay for parking only to find out the venue might have a private event or had possibly closed for good the week before. I wasted too much time sifting through their website, checking my email, and making calls, all for nothing. Given all the changes during the...

I visited this restaurant a few weeks ago and had an enjoyable time, but there were a few aspects that detracted from the overall experience. 1. The biggest issue was that we were excited to check out the arcade, only to find out it doesn't exist. They have Jenga and shuffleboard, but that's about it. It's important for them to update their website and Google listing to reflect the absence of an arcade. 2. Accessing the rooftop terrace involves navigating through a park, using a rather slow elevator to reach the top level. While this is beyond the restaurant's control, it's worth mentioning for potential visitors. 3. I found the menu to be quite pricey for what was offered. If I returned...
I was here a couple of weeks ago, and had a good time. However, there were a few things that made it a lackluster experience. 1. The biggest issue is that we went to check out the arcade, which it turns out doesn't exist. They do have Jenga and Shuffleboard, but that's it. They should definitely update the website and Google listing to reflect that there is no arcade. 2. Getting to the rooftop involves leaving the restaurant, cutting through a parking ramp, and taking the world's slowest elevator to the top level. This is mostly beyond Ox Cart's control, but it's worth mentioning for people interested in going. 3. The menu was pretty expensive for what it was. If I did come back, it'd probab...
For several years, the rooftop terrace at Ox Cart has been a favorite spot in Lowertown, but our experience tonight was disappointing. While the drinks and food were good—no complaints there—the service left much to be desired. It was a busy Friday night, coinciding with a Saints game, so I understand the pressure they were under. However, my friend and I sat at the bar for nearly two hours and not a single bartender approached us to check if we needed anything. We ordered three rounds of drinks and two dishes, but each time we had to flag someone down to place our order. Only one bartender actually served us; the others were unresponsive and wouldn't even make eye contact. It's disheartenin... Book a table now
While I’ve had some decent experiences at Ox Cart Ale House before, last night was disappointing. I couldn’t make a reservation online and called three times with no answer or voicemail. My reservation request wasn’t denied via email until an hour before I planned to dine there with a friend, forcing us to find another place on a busy Friday night. Neither of us wanted to pay for parking only to discover the restaurant was holding a private event or had possibly closed permanently. I wasted too much time searching their website, checking emails, and calling with no results. Given all the changes during the pandemic, their website and Google business page rarely update closure information, so...
The soft opening of this restaurant was not very impressive. The live bands were underwhelming, and the wine list was lacking. Additionally, there were issues with splitting the bill for our group. While the location near CHS Field is convenient, the food was only mediocre. The steak sandwich was enjoyable, but the jalapeño spam balls were served cold and had to be reheated twice. It gives the impression that they may be using pre-packaged frozen food. I appreciate the effort to rectify things at the end of our meal.
The rooftop provided a wonderful ambiance with a view of the stadium, making it an enjoyable place to unwind before a Saints game. The Blu burger and fries were delicious, but unfortunately, the nachos did not meet my expectations. The menu promised three types of cheese, but all I could taste was the squirt cheese, which I believe was intended to be beer cheese—and it was far from enjoyable. Additionally, the chicken on the nachos was bland and very dry. I would not recommend the chicken nachos.
Great server but I just didn't like that they didn't have soap in the bathroom. Especially during this pandemic. Love the music choice and the server did come over with hand sanitizer when I mentioned there was no soap but it never got attention in the bathroom. The classic burger was delicious and their fries were SO GOOD! Book a table now
The ambiance and location were excellent. However, I observed that there were not many arcade games available. The food was delightful, but the drinks were just mediocre.
