The Food Hall - not be confused with an American mall food court - at David Jones is a culinary adventure. Meats, cheeses, organic fruits and veggies and smoothies next to the antipasto and chocolate counters makes this one stop food shopping. But the sushi bar is one of the best finds in the basement. You can purchase pre-packaged sushi or order from the menu at the counter. I have purchased the Salmon Lovers box when I have been pressed for time and found it fresh with only a slight chill from having been sitting in the chilled display case.Ordering from the counter, the sushi temperature is not an issue. There are also hand rolls available for purchase. The counter staff are pleasant and e...

Absolutely love the David Jones food hall but some of the food bars can be hit and miss. This visit I had steamed oysters and Peking duck noodles at the noodle bar. The oyster were great but the duck noodles were firstly lacking a lot of duck - it was there but so finely shredded you couldn't tell, and was a little heavy on the salty sauce side. The service was excellent though. Just think I prefer the oyster bar and sushi train,
I love the David Jones food hall as there really is something for everyone. The oyster bar is a great spot to enjoy with or without company a glass of wine and half a dozen lovely little oysters served up in your favourite way. We enjoyed oysters kilpatrick, duck dumplings and prawns. Service is friendly and prices are reasonable.

What a cool little Sushi spot. I had lunch here since it was close by my hotel. And I wasn't disappointed. I love how the sushi comes along on the conveyor belt. It's a really right idea. You just grab whatever you want off the belt. And you are charged by the plate color. It's a quick. Easy, and fun way to have sushi.
Great food , I love the dumplings , it's a great place to sit if you are alone as you sit at a bar . Great atmosphere and great place to stop have a glass of wine and enjoy people watching . Can get very busy at lunch time but very fast service
Came here for a quick feed at lunch and was underwhelmed. Particularly bad when the rice and sushi were clearly cold and been in the freezer for some time. Will not be returning given the great Japanese food you can get.
We attended during the Xmas rush in December. The sushi is varied and super fresh. Its not cheap, but worth quality always costs more! A great repite from the shopping rush. Book a table now
I haven't had the chance to take a seat and eat there at the bar but always grab a bite to take away whenever I'm passing by during lunchtimes.

"I was satisfied with the food. Burgers are between $14.90 and $15.90. The drinks are more expensive than other places, and the free Wi-Fi is slow and stops working intermittently."
