We regularly used Peters Fish Bar on our return from walking the dogs and on many occasions had their Fish and Chips which were excellent,and service was extremely friendly with some good banter thrown in for good measure. We revisited last weekend and ordered some food,i had the Chicken kebab whilst my wife ordered the Fish and Chips which she thoroughly enjoyed even if the portions were huge! My Kebab was good,very good,however slightly ruined by the amount of chilly sauce that was lobbed on by one of the many(7 of them and really not needed)staff members. I’m 52 years old and have had fish and chips many times during my life. I used to live in London and would use a very highly rated fish and chip shop visited by celebrities. I can honestly say, hands down, Peter’s Fish Bar has got to be one of the best fish and chip shops in the country. The chips are absolutely sensational. Really delicious. The fish is freshly cooked to order and has a lovely crispy batter. We don’t get take aways very often but have used Peter’s Fish Bar around ten to fifteen times in the last five years. The food has always been consistently fantastic. We have several far closer fish and chip shops but go out of our way because the food is so good.
Fish and chips were freshly cooked but driving away with the food in the provided bag an unpleasant smell permeated the car. When we started eating it was obvious that whatever the fish and chips had been fried in was rancid and most of the meal was binned. There are better fish and chip shops in nearby Thrapston and we will use those in future.
At last it has re-opened. Steady responsible clientele. We ordered by telephone and collected. As usual, the fish and chips were excellent! Peter and his staff are doing a tremendous job as always but especially so in these trying times. Much appreciated.

My son lives a few doors away from Pete’s. We often use the shop when in the area. Good service , good value and always great product. Only downside is that my son lives too close and it’s just too easy to pop up the road and over indulge.
Not the best fish and chips I've ever had and a real disappointment give the cost. The fish was dry and tough in a greasy batter, the chips were also very greasy and smelt of old oil. If I had had time I would have taken them back.
Me and my wife are regular customers, we love Peters fish bar menu. The service too is very quick and friendly. We are happy to travel several towns over to get our chips from here, we highly recommend this takeaway.
The fish was lovely white and flaky, batter nice too..chips got large portion, well enough to feed 4 not 2 people, mush peas just right too! Well Done! the fish is excellent for a land locked village

Worst ever Fish I have tasted, bone dry inside the batter, must have come out of the fryer hours before. I gave them the benefit of the doubt after a previous poor experience but never, ever again.
I always use Pete’s chippy as his fish is cooked to order. Chips are always piping hot and really tasty and huge portions! I would highly recommend this chippy to anyone who enjoys fish and chips
