On the white sandy Wyker south beach near the North Sea Park and opposite the old golf course, this beautiful house, built in island-typical red clinkers, can be found. It includes the restaurant pancake house and the garden cafe and apartments.. The pancake house can look back on a long history, it is part of the North Sea sanatorium built in 1898. However, after almost 100 years and after 2 surviving world wars, it was used as an island laundry. In 1995 it was served as a restaurant and cafe. if you drive towards a flight from wyk, then lies on the left side of the gmelinstr. an elongated building, built with the island-typical clinker stones. it is a 100-year-old former economic building and today bears the names of the owners, the family prinzen, the prinzenhof . We went there as we knew they catered for my wife's allergy (gluten). All went well, we had 3 different pancakes and there is nothing really to complain about. However, comparing the prices you pay for a pancake here to other lunch places on the island we were taken aback a little as the prices are steep.My son enjoyed his sweet choice (he is 11, who would not) and this was priced OK. I had the Chilli pancake option, which was a huge portion, but also had quite a price tag. The most disappointing one though was my wife's gluten-free pancake and as in many other restaurants around the world I think that restaurants always think that people with a gluten allergy are on a diet.Here is the news...

the pfannkuchenhaus is located near the south beach and is located in the beautifully renovated old economic building of an earlier sanatorium. in the interior the whole looks a little fast food (at least on the first view,) the hof of the restaurants is really fantastic: with pavillons to sit, well, climbing plants, roses, a carousel for children, all very beautiful (see photos.) on the menu there is in first line (which surprise) pfancake in all variations, both sweet and defy. the flats taste good and the prices are in the normal (touristic) range. so: especially with beautiful weather a great location, even with children.
pfannkuchen in all variations! I tried a hearty variant and was satisfied. Nevertheless, I prefer a pizza, it costs the same. there is also a large outdoor area with play possibilities for children, up to the sea just a few steps to light up!
Always very tasty... whether pancakes or ice cups. Very nice service. Corona requires smaller card (but is for everyone what) but also a daily card with optionally 2 different dishes incl. One little ice to dessert.
tasty pancakes, but strongly reduced card and an unacceptable waiting period of almost an hour! a table with 10 people is not an excuse, or a shame, here it was earlier better!
