Visiting the Sydney Writers Festival, we decided to have lunch at Pier 8. Great table outside with wonderful harbour views, but this was the only highlight of the meal. I might add that we were there before midday, so it wasn't peak service time.Half an hour after sitting down, one of us had to walk over to a waitress for a second time to ask for a menu. Another 20 minutes passed and again we had to hunt down a waitress for our order to be taken. She referred us to someone else and finally an hour after arrival our order was taken. It took one and half hours from sitting down to having our meal served. The food itself was very average. No offers of drinks and no water on the table. Then the l...

The good: lovely location, lots of space indoors with a little play area for kids (probably best for those under 1.5 years)The bad: I ordered scrambled eggs with a side of haloumi. As I was wrangling a toddler I wasn't paying a lot of attention to my food, but I noticed an off smell on my plate part way through the meal. I realised that part of the haloumi was off, so I ate around it, and told the waitress when she came to take my plate that part of the haloumi was off. She didn't say much. I went to pay and the full price was charged. I told the cashier that part of my haloumi was off, and gave a bad smell to my entire meal. I said that I did eat most of the meal though. She offered to remo...
We were seated in a sunny spot with a great view on a perfect winter morning. It was looking good. Coffee was good, albeit delivered in a hap hazard manner. We had to walk a long way to the self serve water station, where no jugs were provided so juggling of four small cups was necessitated. The meals were a bit strange. The big breakfast was served in a pan, with everything swimming in a tomato flavoured soup, making it more of a minestrone feel than a hearty breakfast, with the flavours all mixed in together. Unique, but i would not choose that option again. The other meals were flavoured a bit strange, and not exactly piping hot. Service was ok, but a bit abrupt. Worth it for the location...
Met friends here today for lunch. The location is lovely Unfortunately the service and food did not live up to expectations. We waited over half for our food to be served. Then the food came out at 2 different times which meant our friends had our lunch before we did. The quality of the food was average with my tuna salad bland and lacking substance. The tuna was overcooked. My daughter's avocado slices served with haliumi looked very unappetizing so she came away from lunch hungry. We wouldn't go back again. Book a table now
I visited this cafe on Saturday for lunch with family before we went to a matinee at the theatre across the road. The staff were helpful and the cafe wasn't crowded. Our lunch came fairly quickly and we were in the theatre before the show started. The family enjoyed their lunch, although mum (who was turning 81) was a little uncomfortable eating from a frying pan.
Beautiful location, but that's all, food and service were terrible. Our entire order had been completely lost resulting in a very long wait for food. The orders that finally came out were incomplete, cold and very average food. No apology from any staff member. Spend your money somewhere else.
Down on the piers in the Rocks District of Sydney. Enjoy a relaxing breakfast without any hassle, rush or want. Wide open space. Delicious pastries, egg or yogurt and fruit dishes. Service is great but not overbearing.
This is a great looking cafe halfway along the eastern side of Pier 8 in Walsh Bay. Service was quick and friendly and the Campos coffee was excellent. Book a table now
Wonderful location with harbour views across to Luna Park, easy to relax for a cup of coffee to soak up the atmosphere but food is barely ok.
This time dropped in for a muffin and cuppa. Still as good as last time. Conveniently ,located if you are exploring the Rocks in foot
