I stopped going to this restaurant because the steak pies were terrible - they had a bad smell and only one bite was taken. I didn't mention anything to my partner, but as soon as he tried it, he said the same thing. The pies were rotten and had a bad smell. When the new owner took over, we decided to give it another try and they were delicious, until September 1st. We ordered the steak pies again and they tasted strange and had a bad smell. I'm not sure what happened, but we will not be returning.

The nostalgic trays get you excited, but the pies couldn't be less like the originals. Had steak pie, sausage roll and blackcurrant tart. I remember them like they were yesterday and they have nothing in relation to these new pies. The audacity of Pimmies claiming they're just like they're the original recipe it's like saying blue is red. In isolation the pies themselves are less than average, probably a 2 out of 5, but given their ridiculous claim I have to knock it down to 1.

I used to enjoy these pies when I was younger, so I decided to return to my old town to taste them again. However, after 20 years, the flavors weren't the same. The meat and potato pie and steak pie had an excessive amount of pepper, and the pastry was different. I understand that things change, but please reduce the pepper - it was too spicy for me! Please don't try to substitute a different pie as the original.

Ever since the local bakery closed down, this restaurant has been flourishing by carrying on the legacy of Pimbletts pies. The pies are nearly as delicious as the original ones and are a fantastic deal, especially if you purchase them to freeze and prepare at home. Book a table now

This restaurant is a complete ripoff. The new owner has increased the price of a pie from £1.00 to £1.30, even though they were already making a profit at £1.00. It just seems like pure greed.

The pies live on. great little bakery outlet. Have to queue up at a stable door on the industrial estate but well worth finding for the products...Very like the old Pimblets pies !
