I came to this restaurant for a dinner during a work night, as I travel often and enjoy exploring the eateries on Lonsdale St. The restaurant is small and cozy, and the lady serving was friendly, although it took some time for water to be served. The food itself is tasty and closely resembles traditional Thai dishes, but the portion sizes are small. My Tom Kha Gai only had chicken and mushrooms, lacking the vegetables and aromatics typically found in this dish. The same was true for the satay chicken skewers, which were served without any garnishes such as cucumber or salad. Usually, a meal at a Thai restaurant is enough for me, but here I found myself having to order a third dish in order t...

Had high hopes for this restaurant. As I'm not a local I thought I'd read the reviews and it sounds good. Yes it is cheap and had been recently nicely renovated. The service is excellent and I wanted the diode to be good as well. I've eaten hundreds of Thai meals and this was average. The curries did have a good taste but the meat was dry, with few vegetables. The padthai was one of the worst, not sure why but had realy different taste (darker than normal look)with little vegetables and had to ask for lemon plus no nuts... I'm sure other dishes must be good that locals know better but the stuff I had was standard fare and only average.

Now to be fair we were a walk in crowd of over 20 and they seemed a bit overwhelmed but if you are going to have a menu then be prepared to cook everything on it. I had the honey chicken and they must have simply battered chicken skins and then deep fried them before drowning them in a sticky sauce. I may have hit the worst option - and there was me thinking I was playing it safe. Some people did state that they had a nice prawn curry but overall this was visited on the first night of ten and no-one was rushing back.It was not expensive and Canberra is but sad to say I found much better dining options in Canberra

We have often had take away from Ploy Thai as we live close by. The food is always fresh and delicious! Some top choices are the Thai omelette and the chicken with peanut sauce. They have great deals that are good value for money (e.g. lunch specials and free spring rolls for take away orders over a certain value). Service is excellent - friendly and efficient. We love Ploy Thai - a simple and humble restaurant - a reliable easy meal as a great fall back option if you don't feel like cooking!Enjoy Book a table now

We have had take away on a number of occasions from Ploy Thai but finally decided to dine-in here during May. It is truly a lovely family run restaurant. The standard is always excellent - from the friendly service to the delicious and fresh food! If you are looking for a nice night out with an enjoyable meal, we would highly recommend Ploy Thai. The Thai Omelette is a particular favourite too. We look forward to our next visit.

Very friendly welcomand service. This family run business is a joy to visit. The food is good, but not to the highest level of Thai cuisine, and you won't be charged the highest of Thai prices either. So, it's a good deal all round. I don't always want a superb meal, and I certainly do't always want to pay superb prices.

A small family run restaurant that serves excellent Thai food at very good prices. Can be busy at peak times and weekends but it's well worth the wait. The Thai Prawn Salad was especially noteworthy, it was cooked to perfection and was very refreshing after the other dishes.

Stopped in on a wet Saturday night with our new bub. The lady who served us was a beautiful friendly lady who was delightful with everyone who came through the door. The food was quick, uncomplicated Thai food with strong and balanced flavors! I could eat here every week! Book a table now
