After several disappointments from various chain pizza companies, I was at a loss to find a decent pizza on the gulf coast. Well, I found it!! Friends mentioned that I should try Pizza Gorda in Punta Gorda so my wife and I gave it a try and were amazed at the authenticity of this restaurant. It is truly Italian cooking by Italian cooks. The pizza flour is naturally of low gluten content and a gluten-free pizza is also on the menu. The salads are fresh and the pizza is thin crust and absolutely delicious. This spot is a hidden treasure. Meeting the delightful Italian owners was a pleasure, and the service was exceptional. The staff is friendly, and the pizza is the best we've ever tasted. The cozy atmosphere makes it my go-to place to eat every week.
Last night we enjoyed the Halloween prix fixe dinner. It was wonderful! While the pizza is always outstanding, this was truly a gourmet meal. Highly recommend Pizza Gorda!!
