We've eaten here 3 or 4 times, not including takeout pizza. This is become one of our go to restaurants. Good food, people, atmosphere and value. We always try a non pizza dish and the food has been good to excellent. The salads are really good, fresh and large. For apps we've had the snails, antipasto misto, antipasto di Mare and several salads. All were worth it. The di Mara was mostly octopus but that's OK, it was good. I'm working my way through the seafood entrees and the calamari dishes have been perfect as has the Gamberoni. Crisp and tender. My wifes had the tortellini gorgonzola, lasagne and a scaloppina. All very good. Staff has been great, friendly as you would expect in an Italia...

When ever I'm visiting Karlsruhe I have pizza at Pizzahaus. It's a lovely restaurant, great thin crust pizza and big pasta portions. All comes for a reasonable price and the Italian owner and his German wife are super friendly. They use the traditional oven to bake the pizza what gives it the yummy taste. It's a popular place for families, students and large groups. Desserts are okay, but nothing special. Once in a while musicians who go from restaurant to restaurant come in and play life music for 10 to 20 minutes. It's a busy place, but if you are in a hurry who can do takeout too.

We went during the week at around 6:pm (early for Germans, I know. We wanted some good Pasta, and they gave it to us. The veal zitrone was perfect, the stronganoff (at an Italian restaurant! that my daughter got was so good that I ended up eating half of it from her plate. I got the pasta Gorgonzola which was good, but lacked the punch of a good Gorgonzola. The deserts were good, but not quite what we expected. The peach Melba, for example, was more of a peaches and ice cream than anything, but still good.

Step back in time to the 1970s! I don’t think this place has changed since it opened decades ago. The decor and the menu is straight from that era. Food is good, excellent value and no nonsense.m you get what you expect without the need for silly glazes and edible flowers etc! Service very fast. Enjoyed my meal.
