The food and service at this restaurant were both mediocre. We ordered a fillet steak cooked medium rare, but it was served well done. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, we received a dismissive apology and no offer to fix the mistake or refund the uneaten dish. We also had items missing from another main course we ordered. To make matters worse, we were contacted by the staff on our way home claiming we had underpaid, even though we had already paid the full amount of £115 as shown on the receipt. We had a wonderful dining experience at Hillthwaite. As soon as we entered, we were greeted warmly by the staff who interacted with our children and made us feel at home. The food was delicious and the kids menu was a hit with our little ones.
Cannot go wrong if you enjoy good food. Small menu which indicates the food is freshly cooked and it is served beautifully prepared. View from dining room outstanding. Service excellent.
