We had a wonderful experience at Pompei's State Street Sandwiches! The sandwiches were packed with tasty, fresh ingredients. My husband and I enjoyed the Reuben and the Rachel, and both were outstanding. Each sandwich was served with a side of delicious fries. After ordering, the staff promptly brought our sandwiches and salads to the table. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the team went out of their way to ensure we had a great visit.
I regret not taking a photo, but it slipped my mind. I tried the State Street cutlet, and it was incredible. The whiskey-battered onion rings were equally delicious. The restaurant was spotless, and the guy at the counter was warm and welcoming. This was my first time here, and I’m definitely coming back to try more from the menu. The restaurant has a very clean and friendly atmosphere. The Reuben sandwich was absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed a takeout meal for lunch, and it was very reasonably priced at around $10–20 per person. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a perfect 5. I highly recommend trying the Reuben!
I typically have a pretty forgiving attitude when it comes to food, but the Hand Carved Roast Beef Sandwich I had today was a disappointment. The beef seemed like it had been carved a week ago—overcooked and dry. The roll was decent, but the meat was quite terrible. Book a table now

Always friendly always fresh always freaking delicious. The roast beef sandwich is and always will be my go to. Hand sliced and cooked perfectly. The meat is tender and full of flavor. Definitely a spot to try if you haven't.
Excellent food and fast service. Roast beef sandwich was delicious. Also tried one of the specials called The Angry Chicken cutlet which also was delicious. Highly recommend.
