This review mainly focuses on the service. I must say, the food is quite good, although there are a few frozen items, such as the bags of frozen fries, that could use an upgrade. However, the service is outstanding! The manager, Nick, and his team were incredibly accommodating, making adjustments to our order when their machine temporarily malfunctioned, necessitating a replacement with something else. In the end, Nick went above and beyond to ensure we received excellent service, even offering us complimentary items that he didn’t have to provide. Visiting the Crestwoor Portillo's after several years felt like a nostalgic journey, where their beef sandwiches continue to shine as the best. Unlike those at locations closer to home, the beef here is tender and flavorful, served in an ideal bun that makes every bite a true pleasure. It's Portillo's, and it's consistently great, at least when it comes to my orders. I usually get the Italian beef dipped. While I can't say for certain if they have the absolute best Italian beef, I can confidently say they serve one of the best Italian beef sandwiches I've ever tasted. Portillo's also offers delicious fries, and they’re even better when you add cheese!
I really wish we had a Portillo's in Belleville, IL. I usually visit Portillo's when I'm in Chicago and Springfield, but it would be great to have one closer to home. Book a table now
