"Very good food and service, but the 2 people who ordered beef bourguignon complained of a lack of sauce which is usually a key part of this dish. The pork medallions were very tasty and well prepared, but the bison pie also could have used...more sauce although the taste was very good."

It was a weekday and we stopped in for a late brunch. We were seated in the dining room and ordered the eggs benedict and the crepes. Œufs Bénédicte Eggs Benedict 14 Toasted English muffin topped with two poached eggs and hollandaise. Served with...breakfast potatoes Choose One: ham or smoked trout or tomato spinach Crêpes jambon suisse Ham Swiss Crêpes 12 Two crêpes stuffed and baked with ham, Bothwell Swiss cheese and two Nature’s Farm scrambled eggs. I had ordered the Benedict in the past, and forgot to ask the server not to included the potatoes, because I prefer something lighter. But when they came I nibbled on them and they are quite nice. The hollandaise was smooth, maybe not quite a...

This was my first visit to Cafe Promenade, and it will not be my last. The cafe is located at the intersection of Tache and Provencher, giving patrons a great view of the city. The cafe was clean, the service was excellent, and the food...was delicious. Although poutine didn't seem classy enough, I ordered the Smashed Poutine which comes with Bothwell Cheesecurds, house gravy and smashed tourtiere on top. It was fantastic. (No ketchup needed. . My friend had the Boeuf Bourguignon, which she was quite happy with. I did not have room for dessert, but my friend ordered dessert to go for later. We are looking forward to meeting for dinner again there another time, soon.

Even though the place was half empty at 11.30 am, service was very slow. The waiter was slow to bring the initial coffee order and slow to offer refills and then forgot to bring them. I had to ask for an included menu item that...were missing from the meal. The plates were cold and the potatoes only warm where they were covered up by four cold slices of toast. The house made sausage was gone in two bites and again only barely warm. Eggs were nicely cooked but again not hot. A nice place but you can do a lot better if you want a hot brunch in a reasonable time. Quite disappointing.
