Place was clean, health score was 93.The 2 servers seemed nice, place was empty. I made an online order, I picked up my food even had few nice words with the chef. Food smelled delicious.I ordered two poboys.1 with sauted shrimp, and shrimp and grits as the side.1 with blackened grouper, and shrimp and grips. My husband had the shrimp and half way through eating the poboy, he pulled out a shrimp that hasn't been cleaned. Then we both start checking shrimp and grits and the rest of his sandwich. All shrimp hasn't been cleaned. For those of you who don't know it is shrimp poop. Dirty and very gross. It was super disappointing, bc flavors were there and overall was decent, but that poopy shrimp...

We had lunch here Saturday. The staff was very welcoming and offered to explain the different food options since we'd never tried Ethiopian food.We started with the vegetarian sambusas which were filled with green lentils and served with Sriracha and a spicy green chili sauce. For our main course we opted for the Ultimate Combination Platter since it had 3 meat options and several vegatables. The lamb curry was our favorite along with the beets and yellow lentils. The side of rice was cooked biryani style and complimented the slightly spicy curries. For desert we got Galub Jamun and Baklava to go.I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try Ethiopian food for the first tim...

My husband and I stopped in on a weekday for an early dinner. We walked into a clean dining area with plenty of seating and were greeted immediately. We wanted to order the veggie platter for 2 but the young lady suggested the Ultimate Red Sea Combination platter which included all the vegetables and also chicken, beef and lamb. It was amazingly delicious and could've fed 3 4 people. We also had the chicken sambusas and a side of rice, mango juice and guava juice. We'll definitely go back again!

The food was delicious. Service was good. We had vegetable combo, meat combo (enough at least for 3 people) and chicken shawarma. Be aware though there's a second menu, that they didn't mentioned till our later arriving party asked about one plate from neighboring table. And we already placed out or order. But we didn't regret our choice. Also it would be nice to see our ticket, they just gave us our total and scanned our card. We're definitely coming back. Book a table now

Had to wander around for a table because the host was watching his phone. We sat ourselves. Sat for 15 minutes waiting for our order to be taken. I had to get up and ask the host/waiter to take our order. The food was good until literally the very last bite. A hair was in my last bite. Not only did they not apologize, but they didn’t offer a discount. Then had the audacity to ask if we wanted anything else. Seriously?! I’ll never go again.

Looking for something different to eat we decided to tru the Red Sea. The place is tucked away in a strip center, but it is worth the trip! We started with falafel and hummus. For entrees to share we ordered the Baba Ghanouj, the 3 veggie with injera, and the Red Sea Tibs lamb special. Everything was very good and we were surprised by the grocery store attached. We made a few purchases there too.

This place is very good. Tons of vegetarian options. Their Ethiopian food is yummy, especially the veggie combo. They also have Mediterranean and Cajun so lots of choices but the Cajun is surprisingly good. They recently updated their space and it looks clean and new. Overall a good place for a rare cuisine here in Birmingham.Food: 5/5

Amazing food! Being a vegetarian, its hard to find unique flavors new options. The veggie combo had 7 different veggies, all with different textures, flavors colors. I wish I'd have taken a photo of my plate before, but I devoured it so quickly all that's left is an empty one ? Book a table now

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Amazing authentic Ethiopian dishes and drinks. Great prices for the quality and quantity of food per dish. I truly enjoyed my dishes from here but I plan on the next visit to get a platter.
