We were tired and hungry from a long day of travel and touring, and I asked them for walk in recommendations, which they kindly provided. Booked a few weeks in advance for our first visit to Red Skye. Upon arrival the restaurant feels very cosy both waiting staff were polite, friendly and welcoming. We were offered a water for the table as we took our seats which was nice. The wine we chose was lovely. The menu was superb for both myself and my fiancè (I love all food especially seafood, my partner isn't as adventurous). We were so disappointed having booked this restaurant months before our visit. When booking, there was no mention of needing the table back after a certain time, so we couldn’t believe it when after 1 hour we were told that we would have vacate the table in 20 minutes ! This is totally unacceptable as we had only had a main course. They had obviously overbooked. The food we had was ok but not as good as we were expecting and overpriced. We were given the option of having our dessert in the ‘lounge’ but this is the old headmistress’s office and we felt like we had been sent to the naughty room ! We had a fantastic risotto with freshly picked chanterelle and gnocchi with blue cheese… It was really delicious and close to what you get in Italy. The environment is cool since it’s an old school. We were lucky to sit beside the heater which was cosy ; . Maybe not for Dinner because it’s not cozy for a longer stay but the lunch was great and the quality excellent.

Having booked a table for four, Mon 10th July, we turned up at 7.30pm that evening to find the restaurant closed. No explanation. Sign on door just said closed. . Will not bother again. They had all contact details. A phone call would have been courteous. Apparantley this has been happening quite regularily.
I have been to many restaurants, but this one offers dishes that I have never experienced before and they are delicious. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is amazing. Even though you have to make a reservation to dine there, it is definitely worth it.
The restaurant offers exceptional food and locally brewed beers. The service is noteworthy and attentive. The local seafood and lamb burgers were delightful. Overall, the meal provided excellent value.
Fantastic local cuisine. Expertly cooked and incredibly tasty. The ambiance is fantastic and the service is impeccable. This place is a must-visit and will definitely be a repeat dining spot.

Small but excellent menu. Stopped for lunch and had a terrific mushroom risotto and husband had a delicious salmon. Highly recommended.
