There is tough competition in Melbourne for this kind of pan Asian super restaurant. Like the others this place is huge but without a great sense of atmosphere. The initial warning signs were a little ominous...a huge Asian restaurant with no Asians eating there! The food was fine, although not at the standard of its more famous competitors. We would have been happy to pay the steep price had the service been of a commensurate level. It wasn't. Waiting too long for waiter ( wearing sneakers) and then not being able to understand them. A friend and I visited Red Spice for lunch during the week. Location was convenient and the decor was clean, relaxed, and modern. Plenty of room for private conversations. Staff were exceptionally friendly and took our jackets away to hang up. Lunch came to $28 each, without drinks or desert. Although the presentation was excellent I felt the taste and meals on offer were not up to scratch, hence 3 stars
Food here was amazing! Great atmosphere and whilst restaurant was packed the service was excellent for our lunch visit. Asian influence we went for recommended dishes lamb ribs which were so delicious and the pork belly was one of the best I have tasted - crackling Yummo! Topped off with jug of Mojito perfect lunch! We will definitely return on our next visit to Melbourne
What can I say about my favourite restaurant in Melbourne. I've been a loyal customer since 2009 because it ticks all the boxes for me: food (modern Asian), drinks, service and atmosphere. It's a great place to go on a date, with friends or for functions. The highlights: twice-cooked pork belly and lamb ribs.

Had an wonderful dinner here a little while ago. The food is sensational and there is a extensive wine/cocktails list.
