We stayed and dined here for a week, but after 2 nights at the restaurant we simply had to go elsewhere, even though our kids ate free. It was that bad. It is so disappointing, as the hotel is nice and the setting is lovely, with picturesque views over the mountains, and right near the train station. The food was almost inedible. The kids even refused to eat most of the desert! I wish the hotel would improve the food, as this is a serious missed opportunity for them, it seems, but maybe it is different in the winter when the town is more crowded? Travelers note that the breakfasts were fine.
Upon arrival we were welcomed by rude staff that left us in the alley waiting for 10 minutes. The macaroni and spaghetti were average yet the hamburger tasted like a fast-food one and the meat was more than done when we had asked for rare. All that for more than 100chf. Definitely not worth it.
It was probably a bit early, we are the second table being served and we were left alone for most of the dinner time. Food is very good. We ordered mixed salat and spaghetti carbonara, and drinks. Both are simple but delicious. We ordered crepe at the end and it is the best we ever had.
We had lunch twice at this restaurant within the Hotel Victoria. The food was good, well presented and the staff attentive. The service was a little slow, but the restaurant was busy on both occasions for good reason.
