If you sit outside on the terasse, don' t let a fly fall into your glass of wine, that you only had a sip off, the solution for the waitress is, will take a big spoon and dig it out. No, I replied, replace it, after all, fly can carry diseases. Well, she replied, we have to charge you for another glass of wine, witch she did. This is simply unacceptable. I asked a waitress at the LaLa bistro and another one at St-Hubert and they had the same response. We would put the glass of whine as a waist and replace it with no charge. Le Louis Joseph has really gone down on it's standards from a 5 stars for me to a 1. We use to take detours, just to have diner there, never again !
The restaurant is very pretty from the outside. Brick, stone and very attractive lighting. The inside is also charming with a large fireplace in the meeting of the room. We found the menu varied and the service very friendly. Our one complaint was the price. For 6 people (4 adults, 2 children) 5 alcohol drinks, 3 appetizers and no dessert, the bill came to $240. We recommend trying Le Louis Joseph while staying in the Montebello area, just be prepared for the cost. We would return again.
We visited Montebello this fall for a weekend getaway. Love Chateau Montebello, but did not want to eat all our meals there. Le Louis Joseph was recommended and we thought we would try it. It is an old restaurant with a large menu selection. The atmosphere is warm/cozy and the service was great. We all enjoyed our lunch. We hear they have a wonderful Sunday brunch and will try that next time!
We wanted to try a new place for dinner while staying at le Château Montebello and ended up at Le Louis Joseph in nearby town Papineauville. It was a nice surprise: the food and service were very good. From the green salad to the pizza to the chicken brochette everything was tasty and fresh. My daughter's rib eye steak, she says, was fantastic. Well done Louis Joseph!

Had lunch here and it was tasty. Service was excellent. Terrace a bit noisy with traffic buzzing by, but still nice to be able to sit outside during wonderful weather. I had their squash soup and chicken Caesar which were both tasty. Hubby had a vegetarian pizza and it was packed with veggies. A nice bottle of St. Emilion wine made it all perfect. Great lunch place!
We were on our way home from Nova Scotia and happened to be here for brunch. We were very very pleased, the brunch had everything you would expect and then some. Also, desserts were made in house and were wonderful! We are coming back through the area in April and definitely planning to go through this town for Sunday brunch and maybe Sat dinner.
Exactly what I was hoping to find during an enjoyable drive - charming ambiance, delicious food and wine, and was made to feel very welcome (ask for Sharon)! which is always appreciated when travelling solo. Noted to return! Merci mille fois.
Best french onion soup ever had! Fantastic waitress, even spent time teaching us ( english speaking ) a couple of french phrases. Love it here. This is twice that we have been here and have been impressed both times, with food and staff.

Menu for lunch was great with fresh selections. Service was excellent polite and fast. The food was fresh the outside terrasse was clean and well protected from rain. As you walk in the stone fireplace is magnificient. Great restaurant.
