I would like to have given this restaurant a higher rating because of the beautiful location, but unfortunately there were some problems. We tried to eat here our first night in Les Baux, but were turned away because we had no reservations, although... the outdoor restaurant was 3/4 empty and it was late enough that dinner was over the evening. We reserved for the next night. We had a table outside what we wanted. The view is exquisite, view of the castle, the green is beautiful, the environment is quiet and peaceful. We had lunch here twice during our recent stay in Saint Rémy de Provence the only place we ate at twice. The first time we were visiting the village of Les Baux, and wanted an alternative to the very touristy restaurants in the village. Mas d'Aigret, just...a short walk from the village entrance, was perfect. We had a fairy tale view from the terrace, and enjoyed fish and poultry with a great local wine (Ste Berthe blanc de blanc). On a rainy day, when we came back to visit the Carrières de Lumières, we ate inside, in a room partially carved out of the hillside. After the exhibition Carrieres we reserved a table for lunch. The restaurant is located in a beautiful hotel, just below the walls of Les Baux. We had a delicious, relaxing meal under umbrellas, with a beautiful view of the distant mountains. The staff was friendly and efficient. Very recommended!
Settled beneath the magnifcent Chateau des Baux-de-Provence, Le Mas d'Aigret is a lovely place to enjoy a meal before heading to Les Baux de Provence or the Carrières de Lumières. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, I enjoyed both lunch and dinner and both...meals were a treat.
