The soup broth was well flavored. I was hungry and slurped that up quickly. The shrimp cake was not exactly banh khot but it was decent for me although I would have preferred it served more traditionally with lettuces to wrap. Then again, my visit to Quebec has been interesting with no restaurant offering lettuces to wrap imperial rolls or cha gio. Instead they offered a Western side salad. Most restaurants that are called Vietnamese don't necessarily serve Vietnamese food, aside from Pho, but panAsian food such as pad thai and tom yum goon. So, this place seems more traditional Vietnamese with a variety of Vietnamese noodle soup. I ordered a grilled banana-wrapped fish entree that comes wit...

The good stuff: 1] nicely decorated interior, 2] peaceful, 3] pretty patio outside, 4] you can bring your own bottle of wine, 5] lovely (non-Asian) waiter. The bad stuff: the food isn't that great. 1] A pho soup of $5.99 was LESS than HALF the size you'd normally get in a true PHO restaurant. My quail dish was crispy with not much meat, but I don't mind that. 2] I mind the flies buzzing around inside the restaurant (which is why we decided not to sit out on the patio). 3] My husband's dish of carmelized pork was drenched in salty sauce. 4] Our table d'hote meal included a limp salad and dessert which was canned fruit cocktail. 5] We had one server for the entire restaurant so service was slo...

I had been to this restaurant for dinner twice about three years ago because it is a bring your own wine and located in the downtown area and kept good memories. On my most recent visit to Trois-Rivières, I went there for lunch with some colleagues and had the grilled shrimp (5) plate (with fried won tons, rice and salad) and included a soup, dessert (tapioca) and tea for $13.95 before taxes. Next day I chose the chicken tempura that for $11.25 again included the soup, dessert and tea.The offering is generous, and delicious. We enjoyed also the cosy atmosphere of the place which has two sections and a terrace.Service is courteous and efficient. Book a table now

We went to the Restaurant Menuet Oriental for a change of pace from the highly rich and meat-filled dished we had been eating. The restaurant featured Vietnamese cuisine which all of us like. My wife and I had vegetarian plates -- delicious vegetables properly cooked in wonderful sauces -- mine was a spicy curry that was excellent. I also had a hot spicy soup to begin that "was to die for." We ordered brown rice which we prefer and did find often in Canada. It too was excellent. A very nice meal; excellent service; fairly priced. Pleasant roomy ambiance in the down-town area. Highly recommend.

We happened to walk by this place a block from our hotel and decided to try it one night. What a find. The set menu for C$25 had four courses including fabulous entrees of beef and dory filet. All of the food was excellent, and the service was very family-owned restaurant style. if we were staying longer, we would certainly go back tomorrow.

They offer a good selection for vegetarians and tofu lovers. We had the imperial rolls which came with a very delicious sauce, followed by cooked mixed vegetables with tofu served with rice and mixed vegetables on crispy noodles. The service was simple and the prices were affordable. Would love to visit again and try out more of their menu. Book a table now
