I am not in the habit of complaining without due cause. After a long day could not plan anything else, so decided on the Rialto. If you don't want a steak, there were perhaps seven choices, of which three were also available as an entree. There were I think six wines available. The meal was uninspired and overpriced. The service while friendly seemed a chore for the sole wait staffer. Given the high prices, was unimpressed to then be charged a further surcharge to pay with a credit card. I will stay at the hotel but not eat at the restaurant next trip
I don 't know how anyone could rate this restaurant poorly... The food is great, the prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly. The restaurant is never over packed so it makes for a comfortable environment. The recent renovations also added to the ambience of the restaurant. The only constructive criticism I could provide is to have more consistency in opening hours... I have been here twice on normal nights and it 's been closed?? Other than that, a great place to dine and fantastic food.
We would definitely dine here again. The steak was cooked perfectly and very tender, the mash potato was excellent and perfectly seasoned, the salad really nice, but the thing that impressed most was the pepper sauce. So often you can barely taste the pepper and/or it has no heat. Not so with this sauce. It had a beautiful pepper taste and was nice and hot/spicy. Loved it.
The hotel is clean, restaurant clean and the food is I'm sure very nice if I could afford to eat......but after a long day on the road I decided to pop up for a couple of beers before dinner. I thought I'll go cheap and have Great Northern only to find after 3 Beers I had racked up $24. Which would get me half a carton. Walked to KFC because cheapest meal was $26.

Firstly, the meals are absolutely beautiful. Fresh and tasty. Great menu. Compliments to the chef! The waitress however, totally miserable. Two nights in a row, cold manner, abrupt. Not a smile, everything too much hassle. A real shame as otherwise this could be a 5 star rated restaurant.
I have been here for a few times 2-3 years back and I was always impressed. This time I was not impressed. I had to change tables because the tablecloth was dirty and food on the floor. Service was not good and the food was not much better. I wont return.
The food is excellent and the service is first class. Highly recommended. This is a great place for a good meal at the end of the day. I haven't found a better steak in Mackay.
Wonderful atmosphere, cosy and comfy chairs, great food, even though is a limited menu. Dessert to die for made in house, drinks price reasonable.

Wow this restaurant is a hidden gem the food was really good and the prices are reasonable. I was very impressed and will be back again soon.
Came in at 8pm and had a limited choice but the food was well cooked and delivered back to the room.
