Came here after spotting this slick little restaurant last week by accident. The menu is concise and made up of fresh pastas, two sides and a couple of desserts. We started with Prosecco while perusing the menu.Making a decision was not easy as every item sounded great. I chose a linguine style pasta with basil and Passats. My friend decided on herb filled pasta with a walnut sauce. More Prosecco to accompany our meals and our dinner was complete. I feel maybe a few warm sides- such as vegetables might be a good addition to the menu. I had a craving for a particular pasta that is famous and well known in the Veneto region. It’s a duck ragu that I cannot get out of my mind every time I travel to Italy. You couldn’t imagine my excitement when I found it on the menu of this restaurant!! I rushed down there so quickly to discover they also make the pasta fresh and on site in front of your very own eyes by the talented team here at Ripiena! There was so much to choose from but I stuck with the Duck ragu and to my delight it was better or just about equal to the dish I crave from Italy!! This place is proper Italian! If you’re serious about pasta then Ripiena is the only destination you need to know! <br/
So this has been on the list for awhile now and I finally was able to stop by, also they finally finalized their menu . Everything is made in house and from scratch. Proper Italian, no additives, no exceptions, just 100% authentic hand made pasta... And it's good, really good. We tried their spaghetti and tortellini, made fresh as we came in (a beautiful show if you catch it). The tortellini was filled with pork loin, Prosciutto crudo, mortadella, parmigiana, reggiano, egg, salt, and nutmeg... Then wrapped in their egg pasta and served with butter, sage, and grated parmigiana reggiano.
I have a confession: I have a serious craving for pasta. Fortunately for my waistline, there hasn’t been a mid-range Italian pasta restaurant in Brisbane for quite a while. But now, Ripiena in Fortitude Valley has come to the rescue! Without a doubt, it's some of the best pasta I’ve ever tasted in Australia, if not the best overall! Although we missed International Pasta Day last week—what a blunder! It’s one of the best days of the year, so silly of us. I visited this restaurant for a late weeknight dinner with my partner. We ordered the Tortellini Valeggio and the Tortelli Di Zucca. Both dishes were outstanding in their simplicity, yet they boasted a fresh and well-rounded depth of flavors. The pasta was expertly crafted and cooked to perfection. The service was efficient and friendly. The restaurant had a casual yet sophisticated "New York" vibe. There is limited seating, and the prices are reasonable. Overall, I’ve found my new favorite Italian pasta spot in Brisbane!
I've been looking forward to visiting Ripiena, the pasta lab that opened early last year in the new area of Fortitude Valley. Recently, we decided to go there for a quick mid-week date night after work. I heard that it can get quite busy towards the end of the week, so we were fortunate to secure a table without needing a reservation. The menu was brought to us promptly, and we were impressed by the variety of fresh pasta options available, along with some enticing appetizers and desserts.
Came here for late lunch on a Saturday and was met with wonderful friendly service. Food came out quickly and it was lovely to have a good chat about the food and the origins of each dish, as well as the ingredients that go into the dishes. Highly recommend the Tortelli de Zucca!!!
One of the best pasta ive ever had in Australia. Its.obvious that the owner cooked with his heart, everything.was made fresh, pasta were all handmade very simple but that is what its all about. The wines were fantastic as well hughly recommend it. Must must must try! Book a table now
Finally decided to stop by here after walking past it a few times. Handmade pasta cannot get any better than this, and it was even more awesome watching it made in front of you. Great place for authentic &fresh handmade pasta.
