I have been coming here for years. Whereas previously quality was always consistent at a 3 to 3.5 level, now sometimes it is good and sometimes it is decidedly not. Most recently had a very bad experience, both with the service and my food. Yet, on my last visit in June, everything was fine. This most recent time was enough to put me off ever returning. We were in a large group and they mixed up all of our orders. Three servers (none the person who took our order! came out with handfuls of plates and started shouting out the names of dishes and placing the food down in front of people who said I didn 't order that! They didn 't care! They just wanted to get rid of the plates! My mother had o...

I 've lived here for about 11 yrs and had never eaten at Rips. Fiancé and I decided to try them last evening (Saturday) for dinner. I probably won 't be back as the food was subpar to me. And I 'm not a foodie. The customer service was EXCELLENT but the food just wasn 't good. Upon suggestion, we got the crab soup as appetizers. It was heavily topped with meat and though the Soup was tasty, the consistency was more of a thick dip, than a soup. Then I ordered the chicken Chesapeake which was topped in what felt like the same soup and crab mixture and the chicken was dry. There was no seasoning on the chicken. I ate as much as I could. Then we ordered several cheesecakes for dessert to go. Whe...

Morning fun with Adrianna and her Lacrosse team, we were able to enjoy breakfast and get to stop and unwind a lil after their loss. The Inn has a rustic vibe; felt like I was out camping out west. I was able to capture cool pics. The kids were able to sit In an area. Definitely spacious. The parents were able to sit next door and enjoy a few mimosas. Our server was a lil annoyed but we made sure we made it easy for her to process one payment. Then We'd figure out the rest and who owes who what. The dining area where we sat was also spacious. It accommodated all of CCLAx parents. Breakfast was delicious. I'm not a fan of home fries but these were pretty good. I would have wanted it more crisp...

Godda cut Rips down a little here.. long time customer that l am, l know of which l speak. The restaurant is as usual clean and inviting: short staffed (who isn't) all in all everything checks out. Everything except my food. Ordered a blue cheese burger done medium. The wifey got the crab soup and steak and cheese. She feels the soup at Lambert's is better. Rips had a lot of shell in it. She is right, l have had Lambert's soup many times and yet to have crab shell as a condiment. As for my burger.. it was so dry it sucked all of the liquid out of my body. Despite it being cooked medium. Worst burger l have had this year. Came with cold fries as well. Now l like this restaurant, and will go ag... Book a table now

Rips is a longstanding establishment that offers both food and drinks, with a hotel/motel on the premises. The staff is friendly and the service is the highlight of the restaurant. In my opinion, it is similar to Cracker Barrel but the food is not as flavorful. Some dishes may be enjoyable, but others fall short of expectations. For example, the crab dip looks and smells good, but tastes more like fish than blue crab. The drinks are average, but the cornbread stands out as a highlight. Despite its mysterious charm and horse racing theme, I would recommend trying Rips with low expectations. You may find yourself drawn back occasionally, but it may not become a regular spot.

Grabbed a bite to eat at Rips the other day. We started out with a cup of cream of crab soup. The soup was creamy with pieces of lump crab meat on top. It was pretty good. The we had the fish and chips and their version of a French dip. The fish and chips were a little costly, but you got two nices pieces of fish(need more seasoning) fries and coleslaw. The dish was nice and hot. The French dip was basic beef(need more seasoning) and cheese on a sub roll. It came with au jus for dipping, fries. The service was good, but then again the restaurant was not busy. The menu seems a little pricey, but I think Rips is worth a try.

The locals suggest that we dine at this restaurant while in town. The interior is very cool, especially the small bar area. There were no issues with the service, as at least five different people made sure our needs were met. The soups were average, with the Maryland crab soup containing more vegetables than crab. The cream of crab was delicious and had a generous amount of crab meat, although it was a bit too thick for my liking. The sandwiches were also just average, with the turkey sandwich being good and the green beans and stuffing being enjoyable. Overall, it's an okay place to dine.

my wife and I had a date night and we had an excellent experience. the waitress was very fast and helpful in adapting our order. lachs was tender and not overdue. calamari was delicious and slightly baked. the wine was lower than I ever experienced in the restaurants with full service. the family was quick to eat before they left town. the service was very attentive and the environment was quiet at this time of the day (approx. 10 o'clock). the dinge took off at 11 but it did not feel overwhelming. eating was very familiar so the choice was easy to dinate.
