I landed here (on the opposite end of the high street) when I discovered that the pfaelzer hof (the Greek restaurant) is closed on Tuesday - be warned. riviera was a typical Italian bistro with (ciemlich) authentic and friendly mature waiter. after almost 2 hours I am still not sure whether they are Italian or German! the restaurant was quite full and had a pleasant humming. since I was a single, I was placed at the end of a long table opposite the door and right in front of the bar - maybe so that they could keep me in the eye! with minestrone I kept it easy. it was freshly prepared - as my singing waiter stressed - it was hot and tasty, although I am never sure whether the basic chicken or...
I'm not sure what's going on in the previous negative reviews. we have appeared as a foursome without reservation. they found us a beautiful table and the service was more than appropriate. eating was very good, almost extraordinary. they had a rather extensive list of specials for appetizers, main dishes and dessert. Given the size of the village and the size of the venue, I found this refreshing. the prices are of course higher than you would pay at mcdonalds, but the quality was also far above what you find in a local dönerladen!
24 weeks ago I had reserved a table for two people. When we arrived there was no table reserved for us, then we got one in the corner directly with the gaderobe in the back though still almost everything was free.My weinglas was glued out with paper residues and the glass foot was black, as with soot and after my complaint I had found that there was no new glass I can't recommend this locally at all and will certainly no longer visit it.
we stayed in walldorf on the way back from the ski holiday and accidentally found the restaurant riviera. by the way, the only local thing that had on the rosenmontag at midday (what we found). the waiters were very friendly (sung in the background), the atmosphere was very pleasant and the eating has tasted excellent. if I were living near, I would be guaranteed to be a guest!
