Went for a lunch during swim meet when we see the homemade cooking sign. Well was a little disappointing. First of all the booths were filthy. Cushions were so smelly and sticky we could not sit. Our upcharged order of beer batteted fries and onion rings were not beer battered and almost burned in a fryer with old oil. I ordered french dip sliders which were very chewy not tender. College students around here does not deserve to be in a filthy pub. So we left disappointed and not recommend the place . Price per person: $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
On Wednesday night, we arrived at 7 PM and were one of only three tables occupied. We ordered drinks and appetizers, which arrived quickly. However, it took over an hour to receive our main courses: a Caesar salad, a chicken sandwich, and a taco salad. To be honest, the food was mediocre at best. The only time we saw our waitress was when she brought our food, which happened twice. The guacamole was also brownish in color, which was quite disappointing.
The drinks took quite some time to arrive, and the draft beer was served lukewarm, which is somewhat expected at a college bar. I ordered brunch but was informed after 15 minutes that it wasn’t actually available. On top of that, a friend pointed out that the ladies' restrooms were out of toilet paper.
R J Bentley's brings back a lot of college memories for me. The food is what you'd expect from a typical college hangout, but the atmosphere is fantastic. It's impressive that it has been a favorite for 35 years!

The food here is amazing! The chicken tenders are absolutely fantastic! I also tried the taco salad, and it was delicious.
