My wife and I visited the restaurant last night (Wednesday) around 8 PM, just before closing, and we had a fantastic experience, largely thanks to our server, Laura. Since it was a quiet time, our food arrived quickly. We really connected with her; our similar senses of humor made our conversations enjoyable during our meal. I noticed that the restaurant hasn't been very busy lately, so when I was planning a get-together with some old friends, I suggested we go to Macaroni Grill at Tyrone Mall. The food was not only fantastic, but the portions were also quite generous. We had a wonderful time catching up and chatting, and we never felt rushed to leave or finish our visit. I don't know which was worse, the waiter, the cooks/kitchen/food, or the manager who just wanted to argue. I have never eaten at a place where I was so disappointed. When attempting to discuss the issues, he was not interested in the least bit. We had to ask if they could at least bring out the kids food after we had sat there for over a hour. So, he brought 1 of the 2.
The server was really great. However, I ordered the Mama's Trio and the waitress failed to let me know that they were out of lasagna. I received my food with spaghetti and had to inquire what happened. This was very disappointing as my family and I specifically came to this location as there aren't any more macaroni grills in New Jersey or nearby in NY.
