Sartène in mid April, not very busy but even so one takes one’s turn to move on in the narrower parts of the picturesque little street where this and other restaurants can be found. We chose Le Roy Théodore going on what French visitors have said. Previous Anglophone writers were way off the mark. Arrogance? Unfriendly? We were greeted and shown to our table by a charming and helpful patron. Our drinks were quickly produced while we chose our dishes. I had the cannelloni which I found to be excellent, flavoured with fresh herbs including a touch of mint. We were disappointed. We ordered the €26 fixed price dinners, and any tourist who orders a meal like this probably deserves what they get. The charcuterie sausage plate I had and the tomato salad my wife had as a first course we’re both excellent, but it was dramatically downhill from there. I always thought that having dessert falls in the category of eating, but she had a different linguistic approach. If the place would have been packed, I could understand that she would rather have somebody come in for a full course meal, but there was only one other couple there and they were almost finished. In my opinion, a customer who only wants coffee and dessert its still a customer and should be treated with respect and consideration. She obviously did not get t...

A nice and busy restaurant with a romantic vibe. Not overly expensive but the food was below our expectations. The pasta with veal looked promising and the meat was very tender but it was very bland tasting. The calamari were mushy and the tomato sauce was very basic
