Very solid pub. My “regular place” in Lincoln. Location This place is on the river and near the train station. Nearby 10 minute walking down the hill from the cathedral (down Steep Hill street) and a 1 minute walk from the riverside hotels. Across the river from the university. Staff well trained, very friendly and accommodating. Food good gastropub menu with some local food. Some of it is really excellent and a surprising value since the prices aren’t high. Some of it is just pub comfort food but still nicely presented. Bar full bar. Good to great selection depending on what you fancy. The Sunday lunch was delicious. I was a bit disappointed at first that there were no roast potatoes, but the quality of the meal more than made up for it. The profiteroles were absolutely fantastic. It was good value for a two-course meal. However, the welcome was not very friendly and we were ignored for quite some time. Despite that, I was so hungry that I managed to persevere.
First visit to the pub today, had our cockapoo, Baz with us, what a great place, extremely dog friendly with its own doggy menu, staff very friendly polite, in particular a young lady looking after us, Dane’ very friendly and welcoming, a credit to the place, definitely recommend the place if your in and around Lincoln

Yesterday, my family and I enjoyed a fantastic Sunday roast at this restaurant. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable.

Nice clean pub, good atmosphere. Good looked lovely, even though we didn't eat there. Good choice of beer.
