I haven't been to Ruby's Diner in a long time. Their burgers/sandwiches along with their shakes are good as usual. What I noticed this time was their sides are not very good. We had sweet potato fries and Cajun fries, both were not good. They bothseemed a little stale and were not seasoned much either. They have a patio seating which has a view of the ocean, just water,not the coast line. The service was a little slow, but probably due to lack of staffing. The staff were friendly. Their patioarea could use a sweep/cleaning, their tables and lawn chairs were kind of sticky and could use a good cleaning as well. If youwant a good hamburger, tasty shake, with a peak a boo view of the ocean then...
This place is by far one of the best experiences I?ve ever had at a restaurant. The main reason is because of our incredible host Lily!! Right away she sat us and instead of just asking for what drinks we wanted she asks where we are from and we end uphaving a super long conversation about the area around Laguna. After we ate we went outside to take some pictures of the cars.My dad and I were taking selfies and she saw us and asked if we wanted her to take our picture. She truly made this experienceone of a kind, and because of HER we WILL be stopping back!! Thank you Lily for being so great to us!! Also my dad loved theburgers, and I had grilled cheese which was so perfect!!
It’s a pretty nice place to get all three meals throughout the day. I love the concept of an oldie diner, with the ambiance like we are still in the old times, even the music enhances the experience. The food is average diner food but milkshakes do exceed expectations. The service is amazing, always attentive and personal. Overall it’s good but more for the place than the food.
Great tasting American food! Every time we visit, we ask to be seated on the top deck, having a fantastic ocean view, hearing the waves crashing by the shoreline while exchanging pleasantries. I highly recommend this dinner. The food is great and it isnot expensive.

Interestingly, we had tried this same branch a year ago, and the food was better then. Unfortunately, we overlooked that one of the items had bacon in it, so I couldn't try that, but I don't anticipate it would differ much from the regular tenders.
I really loved the look of the restaurant and the service, but the food was not the best in my opinion. We had a sizable order, it was fresh and hot, but missing out of seasonings. The calamari was really good though. Cars outside were so cool.
Ocean View and Vintage cars!!! The good old Ruby's, with the great service, totally affordable, in an amazing 5 star location with an ocean view both from the upstairs deck and from the ground level, and amazing real vintage cars expo.
We had a wonderful experience dining on the rooftop, complete with stunning ocean views. There's ample parking available, and the meals are delicious and reasonably priced.

As for parking, be aware that management will keep an eye on your car if you leave it for the beach. The restaurant has always been kid-friendly, and that hasn't changed.
Everything was great! And our server, was so nice!! We got burgers and fries with milkshakes. Very good quality ingredients. Kid friendly as well.
