I often stop by this restaurant to visit family. Occasionally, I am asked to grab some fish and chips on my way. It is a small, humble establishment located on a narrow street. I appreciate that they do not have pre-cooked fish ready for takeaway, as this means the fish is cooked fresh to order. The fish is always moist and flaky on the inside with a crispy batter on the outside. The large cod portion is quite large, enough for two people, and the large serving of chips is enough for three. The regular fish portions are also a good size. Overall, it is a good value for the quality of food you receive.
I used to enjoy the food at this restaurant, but it has significantly declined in quality recently. They have changed their cooking oils, resulting in rotten chips and soggy, stale fish. The portions are small and the staff are now rude and snappy, whereas they used to be friendly. They also don't accept card payments for amounts under £12. On top of all this, I witnessed a piece of southern fried chicken fall on the floor and be picked up by a staff member and placed back in the hot cabinet. I have been eating there for four years, but I will not be returning.
i ordered a take away for the first time .2 pitta bread every single meat seperate salad .even the chilli and mint sauce were in there own containers .it would have fed 3 people with 1 more pitta bread for 15 pounds ps the meat was in a container of its own full to the top.will only buy from there now .
We ordered the large cod and chips for my husband's birthday, and he absolutely loved them! The portion size was very generous and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend it.
