My husband and I would go to Ruth's Chris for our anniversary and birthdays on a regular basis over the last 20 years. We live close by in Garden City so it was convenient and the food and service were always the best. We stopped going during COVID and hadn't been back until now, for my husband's 70th birthday. The ambience changed since then and although I liked the new look , my husband didn't. He liked the old mural on the wall with the tiger and I thought the new lighter look and new ceiling lights were nice. I gave ambience only four stars because I'm combining my opinion and my husband's together in one review! Food was delicious as always. My husband raved about the ravioli appetizer...
Our love affair with this place goes strong. The services is excellent. The ambiance is quite nice in contrast to the dining room we’d known for so many years. Tonight’s dinner was perfect. Sizzling steak exquisitely prepared medium rare accompanied by grilled asparagus and potatoes au gratin. After a delicious crab cake and seared ahi appetizer stomachs were filled to capacity and sadly there was no room for dessert. That hurt because I love every offering. One thing of note to the hostess: when you have two dashingly handsome gay men dressed to impress who also married here 13 years earlier don’t dare try to stick us in a dark corner. We deserve to be seen.
Lysha was an excellent server; friendly, knowledgeable, and conversational. This time around we ordered a porterhouse for 2, medium rare. Cook was perfect, portion size was perfect, and love the hot butter that it’s served on top of. All of these aspects have been consistent throughout all of the locations I’ve visited (Jacksonville, Denver, Houston, and now Westbury). I wonder what location will be next!
Very pleasant staff and outstanding waitress! Appetizers great . Steaks outstanding. Lobster was not. First one was not cooked, second one tasted like low tide. Sides? Don’t bother. Cold asparagus, cold mushrooms and sour tasting potatoes AU gratin. $13 desert was to be compared with hostess! Won’t be going back!

Made the reservation 2 weeks in advance. They sat us by the front door. We ordered a arrow head and as people walked by everyone stopped to take a look over the food. The mash potatoes tasted like box potatoes. 100 dollar wine that was actually 8 bucks and tasted bad.
Always a great experience. Our server Michael was attentive and personable. Ruth’s Chris is a must visit when you’re in Garden City.
Great location. Food is good but prices are insane. I found the bartender and some staff was not friendly and working “on airs”.
Food and the service was top notch. There was some customers getting noisy, but it quickly was resolved by the staff and team
