I bought some mini croissants on Tuesday, but they were overbaked and too dark. It was a big mistake to buy them. They were awful—thick, undercooked dough that was heavy, dense, and tasted like rancid lard. I returned them to another Safeway and got replacements, but I’m not sure what the bakers are doing. These croissants lacked the proper texture and butter flavor. Very disappointing.
The prices are high, and the cleanliness leaves much to be desired.
