Terrible from the outset. We made a booking online which they were not aware of. On entry the acting manager tried to turn us away stating they had run out of "stuff" but soon accommodated when told we had a booking had been made. Worst decision is that we actually sat down. To start we had baba ganoush which was good, however the bread we had was odd. This was because they had actually run out of bread and instead gave us rice crackers for our mains. The shish kebab were not bad, the veggie mixed plate left a lot to be desired. 1 falafel with 4 cold salads is hardly the "most popular veggie dishes" as per the menu. We were in canberra for the weekend and went for a walk around kingston to find a place for dinner. We walked into saffron, the restaurant was buzzing. Although it was busy we were seated down quickly and received great service. There were so many good options on the menu and the waitress recommended the banquet to us which we were very happy with. The grilled mushroom and zucchini fritters were a stand out. The meat was cooked to perfection. This place is real value for money we will be back next time we are canberra.

I visited Saffron with relatives when I visited Canberra and had a wonderful evening. The food was delicious and the service was attentive without being stifling. I really enjoyed the vegetarian options and my partner loved the mixed grill.

Great serves the food was cooked to perfection. Stand out was the barramundi in chilli and coriander. One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Will definitely be back.
